Data Deletion & Account Removal

You have the right to delete your account and personal data at any time. This page explains how.

1. Overview

At Khora, we respect your right to control your personal data. If you no longer wish to use our Service, you can delete your account and request removal of your personal data at any time. This page explains what happens when you do.

2. What Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove:

  • Your account credentials (email, password, authentication tokens).
  • Your profile information (name, photo, bio).
  • Your saved collections and followed users.
  • Your location history and device identifiers.
  • Your direct messages and support communications.
  • Any reservation and order records linked to your account.

3. What Is Retained

Certain data is retained for legal, security, and platform integrity reasons:

  • Reviews and ratings: Your reviews remain visible but are anonymized (your name is removed) to preserve the integrity of the community's public record.
  • Community posts: Posts you shared remain visible but are anonymized.
  • Transaction records: Merchant payment records are retained for accounting and tax compliance.
  • Security logs: Fraud and abuse prevention logs are retained for up to 24 months.
  • Legal holds: Data subject to active legal proceedings is retained until resolved.

4. How to Request Deletion

You can delete your account in two ways:

Option A: In-App Deletion

  1. Open the Khora app and go to your Profile.
  2. Tap Settings → Delete Account.
  3. Confirm your decision. This action is irreversible.

Option B: Email Request

Send an email to privacy@mykhora.com from the email address associated with your account, with the subject line "Account Deletion Request." We will verify your identity before processing.

5. Processing Timeline

Account deletion requests are processed within 30 days of verification. You will receive a confirmation email once your data has been deleted. Some residual data in backups may take up to 90 days to be fully purged.

6. Merchant Data

If you are a Merchant, deleting your account also unlinks your restaurant listing. The listing itself remains on Khora (as an unclaimed listing) so that the community's reviews are preserved. To remove a restaurant listing entirely, contact us separately — removal is subject to review and may require verification of ownership.
